Graptophyllum ilicifolium - 'Holly Fuchsia' - it grows quickly to reach a height of 1 to 1.5m with a spread of 1m. 'Holly Fucshia' is suited to most conditions, but prefers a warm position with water during dry times. Brilliant Red, glossy, fuchsia type flowers occur all along the branches during November/December. Great for cut flowers as they are long lasting when cut. The foliage although a little prickly is ideal for small birds to nest in to keep them safe from predators and also makes great cut foliage for fillers in your vases. Planted as a hedge they are fabulous and take readily to pruning tokeep them in shape. Prune regularly and fertilise with a native fertiliser to keep 'Holly Fuschia' happy and healthy in your garden.
